Meet Alyssa
Hi, I’m Alyssa, the founder of Wide Open Wander Travel Co, based in Denver, Colorado. I created Wide Open Wander because travel has always felt like more than just a getaway to me — it’s freedom. It’s perspective. It’s proof that life is bigger than routine, bigger than fear, and bigger than the “one day” we keep promising ourselves.
I’ve worked in very different worlds — from law enforcement to dog grooming — but nothing has ever made me feel as alive, fulfilled, and inspired as stepping into a new place and realizing how much there is to see, learn, and experience in this lifetime. And if I’m being honest, one of my biggest fears has always been waiting too long. I never wanted my dream life to start “someday,” after the timing was perfect. That’s why I decided to start my own travel business — to turn my passion into something I could pour into fully, and to help others choose adventure now instead of later.
Outside of travel planning, I’m a Professional Highland Games athlete, a proud owner of five animals, and someone who will always hunt down the best coffee shop in every city I visit. I love the ocean, live music, movie theaters, hidden gems, and cozy nights that involve cooking, baking, or a little Harry Potter comfort. And if you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you my love language is gift giving — which makes travel one of my favorite gifts to help people experience.
