In 2023, one of my brothers was stationed in Germany for the Army. I went to stay with he and my sister-in-law for over a month, so I could get away for awhile and explore. Having my brother in Germany meant I had a home base and someone close by to help if needed.
While I was there, I booked a FlixBus ticket to Paris with less than 24 hrs to it leaving. I researched and made a plan that night of where I wanted to go and things I wanted to do, booked a hostel and went. Those four days in a brand new city, by myself, was such an eye-opening experience! The new feeling I had in my chest and heart is something I'll never forget.
About 2 weeks later, I went on to take a solo trip to Amsterdam for a few days and it just confirmed that nothing will compare to how travel makes me feel. The complete freedom and ability to see the world how I want rather than how others make it seem.
In 2024, I took a solo trip to Hawaii for my birthday. I rented a car and drove around the island, ate delicious food, got a tattoo, saw the most amazing sunsets, hung out with people from my hostel, and did a group tour to snorkel with sharks. It was the best week of my life.
